Detailed Tour Itinerary

Arrival to Paro in morning. Our representative will meet you in the airport and will transfer you to the hotel. After check-in, visit to Trashi Chhoe Dzong, also called Fortress of the Glorious Religion is scheduled. It is situated on north of the city on west bank of the Wang Chhu. The Dzong hosts the colourful Tsechu festivities. Opening times 5-6PM Mon-Fri, 8AM-6PM Sat & Sun. Later, visit the National Library housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts. After that visit the Institute for Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School. Rest of the evening at leisure.

Check-out from the hotel after breakfast and proceed to Paro. Upon arrival, check into hotel and later visit the Drukgyal Ruin Dzong. This was a fortress and Buddhist monastery which is now in ruins. Later we visit the Kyichu Lhakhang. It was built in 659 by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo to subdue a demoness residing in the Himalyas and is also one of the oldest Temples in Bhutan. The next in the list is the National Museum of Paro, housed inside the revamped Ta dzong building. At last, you will visit Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery that serves both as a civil administrative centre and as a monastic home for a community of monks.

Meal Plan: Breakfast

Morning after breakfast, hike up the hill to visit famous Tigers nest temple or the Taksang Monastery. Precariously perched on the edge of 1,200 meter, this monastery creates an impressive sight and is the unofficial symbol of Bhutan. It is about 2 hour up-hill hike or ride a horse from the parking lot to the monastery. You can hike for 1 hour to the cafetaria which gives a good view of the monastery. Spend the evening at leisure in Paro town.
