Detailed Tour Itinerary
On arrival to Guwahati, you will be assisted at the airport/railway station and transfer to hotel for check in and overnight stay. If time allows, you will be visiting the famous Srimanta Sankardev Kalashetra. Later, you will be proceed for a river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra in the evening for about an hour.
We will check out from hotel ain the morning after breakfast nd proceed to the Manas National Park, which is about 4-5 hours drive. On reaching the park, you will be check into pre-booked hotel/resort. After lunch, the afternoon is free to explore the nearby tea gardens and villages. Overnight stay in the park.
In the morning, we will be going for elephant safaris into the wilderness of the park. Later after breakfast, a full day jeep safari inside the park is planned. You will be able to spot many wild animals like rhino, bison, wild elephants, hispid hare, pigmy hog etc strolling freely in the park. We will return to the resort/hotel late in the afternoon. Bonfire can be arranged on request, where you can sit with a hot cup of Assam tea and have a good time.
We will check out from the resort in Manas and proceed towards Shillong, the capital city of the state of Meghalaya. If time allows, we will make a stop at the magnificent Umium Lake on the way. We will reach Shillong in the late afternoon and check into the hotel on arrival for overnight stay. The evening is free for leisure activities.
After breakfast we will be leaving for Mawlynnong, which is 2 hours drive from Shillong. Mawlynlong is about 40 km from Shillong that has earned the reputation as the cleanest village in Asia. On the way, we will be stopping at Shillong peak and Elephanta falls. Mawlynlong will give you a chance to explore the beautiful village, nearby streams and interact with the locals to learn more about their culture and tradition. Later in the afternoon, we will return back to Shillong. If time allows, we will be visiting the famous cathedral church and the golf course in Shillong. Evening is free to explore the local markets. Overnight stay is fixed in Shillong.
Next day we will go for a day trip to Cherrapunji- the rainiest place on earth. On the way we will stop at Nohkalikai falls and the Seven Sisters falls, etc. On reaching Cherrapunji, we will visit the famous Mawsmai cave, Thangaram Park from where you will be able to see the plains of Bangladesh. We will return to Shillong in the afternoon and stay there overnight.
In the morning, we check out from hotel and you will be driven back to Guwahati. On reaching, you will check in at hotel again. Evening is free to explore the local markets. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
